Doing business is not that hard. The only thing that makes it seem harder is the fact that sometimes, people start out a business the wrong way. Selling products, acquiring material, employing people, and financing operations – these are things that should be thoroughly studied and pondered on before they are actually implemented. For entrepreneurs and up and coming businesses, the first steps are the most important. Planning is instrumental on how a business does in its first few weeks or months. Planning is crucial to proper execution when a business starts. And planning is the key to making a business grow in the future.

Most people are aware that being an entrepreneur is a very rewarding job, and if plans set off on a good start, success will keep coming. With planning come an organized way of thinking and a great body of knowledge to tap into for clarity. What’s even better is learning from the experts and hearing out their experiences. For startup entrepreneurs wanting to gain valuable insights for business, a seminar can be of great use.

What will the seminar contribute? Clearly, discussions will revolve around the most important points of handling a business from scratch.

For the introductory discussion, entrepreneurs will touch base on their inner selves. What are their abilities? What topics interest them the most? What are the strengths that motivate them to hone the said skill? Meanwhile, what are the weaknesses that hinder them from making the most out of that ability? For starters, it is very important to understand the self first before pursuing anything demanding such as a business.

Meanwhile, what comes next would be the discussion of the guidelines to be followed. This may include the more technical aspect of planning as it involves the processes in registration and rules that an entrepreneur has to abide to.

What comes after is the challenging but interesting part – that of coming up with a doable business plan.

A business plan may take weeks or months to draft. This is the reason why going to seminars is also necessary in keeping up to date with new ideas and being able to incorporate proper methods to keep the planning as organized as possible. There is so much to consider, from capital to amount of manpower needed, the list will overwhelm you.

However, the best part is that while you are working on the seminar, you are also taking all the information in, therefore making you more knowledgeable and fit to finally run a business.

There are a lot of different standards and traits on how to assess a good employee. And still, all these will end up with the basics. The traits of a good employee can be innate or acquired. Usually, these acquired positive attitudes are born of the needs in the workplace. However, the basic traits will just evolve and spring new ones when a person starts working.

A good employee is a responsible employee. He or she knows his or her job and does it with utmost proficiency and efficiency. Being responsible does not mean to only mean doing and accomplishing your job, but it also requires excellence.

Being a good team leader and a follower at the same time is also a trait of a good employee. You know how to lead and direct your teammates to success. Furthermore, you have to learn to follow directions and rules when you become a member of a team. These traits may be hard to have or acquire but this also requires patience and critical-thinking skills.

Trust is also needed in achieving a good employee status. Most of the time, this will be broken when you spread gossips inside the workplace. Furthermore, protect your company by not sharing confidential files, information, and accounts to others. It is also best to keep everything to yourself. This will save you from becoming a company’s problem at the end.

Good interpersonal relationship is also needed for you to become a good employee. This means that you create a good relationship with everybody in your workplace; from the front-desk officer to the accounting staff and most especially your boss. However, do not shove it too much that you try hard to be friends with everybody.

You must also exercise punctuality and be civil in the workplace. This is a good trait, especially in not making a scene in the workplace. You must be mature enough to handle things in a civil manner and not create a fuss in the workplace. Furthermore be, ahead of time. Being late often leads to a connotation that you do not take your job seriously.

As a good employee you are also expected to be part of the daily activities of the office. This may be important meetings, unannounced events, and even birthday parties. Others may think that these are lame and boring activities. However, nonetheless, a good employee always tries his or her best to be part in the ups and downs of the company and even to his or her colleagues.

Most of the time you would want to keep your job and not just maintain your status until the day of your retirement. You would want to gain a newer working perspective and a better salary to sustain your needs. Your promotion can be supported with a good working background, seminars and workshops attended for the enhancement of your job description, and also it must be backed up with good working relationship.

Before planning for a promotion make sure that you know your employer. You must learn the goals of the company and try to asses if it is parallel to your goals. In this manner, you will eventually know if you wanted to stay longer with the company. If you do not have the same outlook with your current company try to discreetly find a new one. The best time to find a job is when you have one, and you are not too desperate to have one.

Take every chance of schooling, up-skill activities, or any chances of upgrading your skills. Wanting to learn new things and explore more on your current status means that you are intellectually capable of handling bigger positions. This will also give you that edge to be retained and promoted due to your skills and broader knowledge on your filed.

Aside from reinforcing your credentials, it is also advisable to learn your job and do it properly. The tasks may be new or different, but if you are assigned to do it, then you must do it and be efficient. If you wanted to be promoted or your salary be increased to do it. Find every possible means for you to acquire what you think you deserve.

Doing your job great can also be your key to that promotion you have been aiming for. Furthermore, be consistent with your performance. It may be a small task or a one that requires your total attention; you must do it even so with the aim to perfection. This can also be the basis for your key to be. Check the company policy for you to have proper compensation.

Lastly, always try to contribute to the solution to the problems of the company. Do not put pressure too much on your colleagues and boss. Try to be more optimistic and use your intelligence to create solutions. Have a positive response to every problem to make the environment more optimistic and conducive for critical thinking.

With the current economic situation, keeping a job is never that easy. Layoffs and other means of lowering man power are one of the easiest means for companies to cut costs. The question now is, how will you keep your job?

There may be a lot of self-help books, which are jobs related but nonetheless, everything will boil down to the basics.

It is not good to always be on time. It is advisable to be earlier than your log-in time. You could come 10-15 minutes earlier. It is a big no no to be late at work, especially when you are scheduled to meet a client. Letting your clients wait seems very unprofessional. Furthermore, being late at work will always create a bad impression to your boss.

Furthermore, create a good working relationship with your boss and co-workers by not gossiping at work. A little chitchat is fine but spending almost an hour just to talk about unnecessary things at work is inappropriate. Do not let your boss catch you wasting your time gossiping because this could get you down to get fired.

If you have been working for the company for a long time you may already know a lot about the company and how it works. With this knowledge, you can offer help to junior or new employees. This may not keep you your job, but it will help you create a healthy working atmosphere. However, do not be too open to new employees. Still make a gap between you and them and do not immediately share any of your grievances, conflicts, and gossip in the workplace. Remember, a strong work ethics goes a long way.

Aside from getting into the office earlier it is also advisable to stay in a little longer than the usual at the office. This does not mean that you have to be idle while staying longer. You can maximize your time by organizing your work for tomorrow. Check your accomplishments for the day and try to assess it. This way, you will know whether you have done enough and know if you are to be kept in the company.

Lastly, do not argue with your boss and do not oppose his or her opinions too much. It is healthy to pinpoint weaknesses but too much arguing would lead to misunderstanding. This will eventually create personal grudges which you would not want to have with your boss. You can talk to your boss in a nice way when you are alone and show him the problem and the solution if you have.

When you work, it is not always about dealing with your boss, creating a healthy work place, or finding ways to get a raise. Most of the time, you will be asked to create reports and present it. It is not a secret that most of us tend to be fearful in facing the crowd and speaking in front of it. Often times, we get panic attacks and eventually end up blank when it is already time to face the crowd.

Creating presentations and winning the attention and approval of your audience is not that easy. Having high confidence must be supported with rehearsals. Also, enough knowledge is not enough, it must be exceptional.

Before saying your ready to go, check first your preparedness by assessing yourself.

Know what your purpose is. This is not only for you but for you audience. The message must be sent clearly and must be well understood by the listeners. Do not waste time because that will also mean you are wasting money. Go directly to the point and do not forget of your aim. Always think of your means and your end-goal.

Also, after knowing your aim, start you’re your presentation with your end-message. After doing so, focus on the supporting details of your presentation. This details must backup you message in a very strong manner. Therefore, this must be specific and clear but still is very informative and detailed. It is also a great idea to focus the details on the subject matter.

Now, focus on your train of thought. Develop the narration aspect of your presentation. Use simple words and carefully link each word to one another as if threading. Deliver the words clearly and pronounce the words right to be bale to send the message vividly. Map you presentation on your mind and use this tool to focus on your presentation.

Take heed that your presentation is not about you power point or your handouts but you. You are the key to a successful presentation. Therefore, present it like telling a story and do not be too conscious. People tend to listen more if you are calm yet still authoritative.

Keep and send the message moving by logically relating and linking it to current situation or to local event. In this way your listeners will easily grasp your thought. This could be contradicting or parallel to your examples. This will be very helpful if you are having a hard time in using the facts.

Lastly, be yourself. Be sincere and honest with your presentation because your audience will know.

You have always dreamt of your job. You did almost everything just to get the job you have right now. But, like any love affair the flare is or has already burnout. Everyday has become a robotic activity. No more passion. You aren’t happy anymore. And now you are asking, where did all the love go?

It is important to make every day an exciting day when you go to work. The excitement must be maintained even after working for five years. This is not only for you but also for your company and for you to be more effective. You can do this by recalling the feeling you first felt on you first day. Recall the reasons why you applied for the job and why did you get it.

Also, begin your day with the right foot. Be optimistic and, like in loving, feel the good vibes that your partner or in this case your job has to offer. Begin your day loving and smiling. Do not think of your job as a boring routine which helps you feed yourself but instead do it because you know this is what you want.

Now, supplement yourself with the things you will need to fall in love again with your job. You need to be physically prepared. As much as possible, sleep early and get and eight hour sleep and rest. In the morning, do a little bit of exercise and do not skip breakfast. Remember that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Do this with the feeling of your first day on your job.

Choose the dress you think you would be wearing on your first day. Pay attention of the details just like your very first day at work. Properly groom your self to be more pleasing and appealing to your boss, coworkers, and clients.

Get motivated. Be with the people whom you know are your friends. Also, take time to know them better by eating or dining with them. Having friends or being with the people you like can be a motivation to keep yourself loving your job again. Having a circle can also give you more reasons to get up in the morning and do your job effectively with them.

At the end of the day, keep track of your accomplishments. In this manner, you will be more motivated to do better and finish tasks on time. Also, make a list of what you have learned and what you want to learn to keep that working flare up.

Love your job all over again and try to live to it everyday with these simple tips.

Loving and wanting to keep your job could mean doing anything and everything to keep it. The extreme action you could do is befriending and wanting to get too close to your employer. Unknowingly, you are already creating a dark cloud and a wall against your fellow employees just to keep your job. But there are still a lot of ways or means to do it and not be “The Pet”.

Most of the time, people tend to forget that working is not all about earning but also learning. Try to make decisions which you won’t regret at the end. And if you have already done a regretful one, try to redo things and follow the steps below and keep your new job.

First, do not get too close with your boss. Avoid misunderstanding and misconception to create a healthy relationship and competition with your co-workers. In this manner, no one will think of plotting against you. Being civil and knowing your limits and grounds will surely maintain a good employee-employer and employee-employee relationship.

Keep your job or even get a promotion if you become and maintain being an efficient employee. Support your efficiency with commitment and loyalty to your job and the company. Being efficient means being productive, so eventually it will pay off by keeping your job or getting a raise.

Being in a working environment with different individuals is like entering the jungle everyday. These differences could probably lead to misunderstanding due to the difference in perception and traits. The key to this is respect. Harmony in the work place will mean that you all give importance and respect to one another. Avoid being close with your employer by talking to him or her too much. You should rather build a good relationship with your co-workers because they are the most important people in the workplace.

Take responsibility of your action; do not point fingers just to lean your name in front of your boss. This is a very childish and bad idea just to gain recognition. Likewise, acknowledge everyone in the group when you succeed. Do not earn all the recognition especially when you know it is not only you who worked for the success.

Lastly, if possible be friends to everyone in your office but do not overdo it. Being a friend here means that you could be trusted. Remember that the people on your workplace are the people you will be spending most of your time with.

Try to follow these simple tips and keep your job without being hated.
